Al Jazari tells that many did not find him convincing when he expressed the claim that any three points on a sphere lie on a single circle. Those who do not believe him ask him to prove with a compass. For this reason, he designed and made this tool to find the center of circle both on a sphere and a platform. On globe surfaces, he finds the point of intersection of the perpendicular bisector of lines connecting the points as the tool is made of thin and flexible material fitting on the surface measured. This tool is also used to draw an equilateral triangle, regular pentagon, and hexagon. It is amazing that this tool is still used in metal fabrication sector in the same form and shape with the same efficiency and accuracy.
In this exhibit that we designed and we are in the process of making, we added a globe for educational purposes and this will help students to make measurements using the geometric drawing tool.
